This is a pane controlling the transport (play, pause, etc.) of the editor, as well as showing the timeline for layers, effects and automations; depending on your selected tab.
Here you can:
- Adjust the timeline’s zoom level (with the buttons on the left or by scrolling over the waveform)
- Toggle looping in the editor
- Toggle showing keyframes on top of tracks
- See the elapsed time and duration (click the time display to switch its format between
(HH):MM:SS.ssandSS.ss) - Control the transport, advance frame-by-frame
- See the loaded audio’s file name
- Load a new audio
- Mute and adjust the volume
You can reset the zoom quickly by pressing the zoom factor text.
Timeline? Tracks?
We sometimes refer to this section as Tracks, and sometimes as Timeline. These words mean the same thing in this context. Don’t confuse this Timeline with the Time line item!
